What to do
With St Mary's being the gateway to the other Islands, you can catch the daily launches that leave the harbour to St Agnes, Tresco, St Martin's and Bryher, as well as to the beautiful unihabited islands that surround us.
For those looking for holiday activities, there is sailing, horse riding, fishing, windsurfing, golf, golf cart hire, bike hire, tennis, squash, diving and snorkelling. Whilst for those with children, the Islands are renowned for their wonderful beaches and safe bathing.
Part of the Duchy of Cornwall since 1337, the Isles of Scilly have been home to man since the Neolithic times. Today, only five of the 200 islands and rocky outcrops are inhabited - the remainder providing sanctuary for many rare and interesting birds.
The warm, clear Gulf Stream climate encourages many exotic plants and enables the islands to support a flourishing flower industry and a wonderful holiday destination.
With a fantastic mixture of wild beauty and rugged coastlines, flower-strewn hedgerows and deserted, white sand beaches and azure waters, combined with a pace of life that simply encourages relaxation, the Isles of Scilly are the perfect holiday destination.
